Chinese Communist Party Chongqing Municipal party committee Propaganda department，Chongqing Municipal Cultural Mission has hosted this program. Chongqing Library and other thirty-six relevant apartments have arranged this program together. Chongqing Library plays leading role on this activity. They apply the concept –Advocate universal reading, generating an air for loving reading – into practice.

Chongqing Library has planned a series of activities advocating reading so as to meet civilians’ spiritual need. These programs started in Jiefangbei square – the main venue and the branches of other venues synchronously. Stuffs exhibited specific materials and provided attentive services in the main venue. It is convenient for the public to find what they want.

Cultural creative products draw the public’s attention. Chongqing Library demonstrated porcelain plate ornaments, folding fan, “liangyou” brand notebooks and seals. Besides, paintings, newspapers and magazines, folk books were all displayed in the Jiefangbei square exhibition counters with the theme – Chongqing Library folk image, story of the Republic of China. Citizens were keen on delicate porcelain plates so that they can’t wait taking photo with these ornaments. Teenagers preferred to seal the Chongqing Library’s emblem. The elderly participants communicated with stuffs about the originality, functions and design concepts of creative products. They all approved Chongqing Library’s endeavor in collection of cultural materials and innovative application of cultural resources. This activity took influence on cultural transmission by exhibiting heritage and classic but antiquated books.

Engraving printing is revitalized nowadays. Although printing is cherished technique in Chinese culture it is seldom used by the ordinary. Chongqing library makes engraving of precious version of classic books –The Three-Character Classic, Encouraging learning, hundred years note, winter sweet – using conventional methods. Stuffs supply brushes, painting brush pot and China paper to the public so that they can make engraving by themselves. Printing counter is rather popular even appeals to some foreigners. Ms. Raymond from Canada prints a piece of Three-Character Classic. She could not help signing “Amazing”. She expresses her love to this work and alleges she will bring this work to her country so as to advertise Chinese culture.

Reading can apply VR technology. Reading may become three dimensional and interesting. “Clay type – VR experiences of movable type printing” applies Virtual Reality Technology to bring Interactive Scene Experience. This technology appears ancient invention and process flow. It indicates Chinese craftsmanship and wisdom. Over a thousand of participants learn papermaking by means of remote control under the instruction of stuffs. Meanwhile, Chongqing Library stuffs bring VR technology with themes of “To Borrow Arrows with Thatched Boats” “Bamboo” ”Dog’s year arrival” in Jiefanfbei square. The technology enabled the citizens to gain vivid reading experience.

Chongqing Library has planed the exhibition of advertising reading. Stuffs hands out brochure in order to attract citizens and encourage universal reading. Liu Xiaonian, vice minister of Chongqing Municipal Committee Propaganda department, attends this exhibition and inspects the works of Chongqing library in “Reading month”. He states “wandering books” do well to cultural construction. Sending books to citizens do favor to have civilized atmosphere.
